The Millard North Mustangs are taking a road trip to square off against the Westview Wolverines at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Millard North sitting on 11 straight wins and Westview on four.
On Tuesday, Millard North earned a 65-56 victory over Omaha North. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Vikings are ranked 113th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Millard North relied on the efforts of Avril Smith, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds, and Sara Harley, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 19 points. Harley continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzie Galligan, who posted ten points.
Millard North smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Westview made easy work of Columbus on Friday and carried off a 62-42 win. The Wolverines have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.
Westview's win came from a few key players Millard North will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Stella Williams, who went 7 of 12 from beyond the arc to rack up 23 points. Thanks to that strong game, she now owns an excellent 41.4% three-point shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Lucy Fierro, who had 12 points along with seven assists and three steals.
Millard North's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-2. As for Westview, their win bumped their record up to an identical 18-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Millard North has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30 boards per game.
