Basketball Recap: Cary-Grove Comes Up Short

Cary-Grove saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 49-39 to the Mother McAuley Mighty Macs.

Leading Mother McAuley to victory were Taji Alexa and Quinn Arundel. Alexa shot 4-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds, while Arundel posted 16 points. Arundel is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.

Cary-Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Mother McAuley, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.

Cary-Grove wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-46 loss against Rockford Auburn on the 26th. As for Mother McAuley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-54 defeat against Guilford on the 26th.
