Waconia proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Jefferson Jaguars 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since May 22, 2024.

Waconia's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Jefferson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season.

Coincidentally, Waconia and Jefferson will both be playing Orono the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will host the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Jaguars will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
