Softball Recap: Albuquerque Academy Chargers vs. Manzano Monarchs

While Albuquerque Academy put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Manzano. The Chargers blew past the Monarchs 10-0. For the Chargers, this counts as revenge for the 9-1 victory the Monarchs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2018.

Melissa Purcella was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
