Basketball Recap: Kallie Byrd's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lee County over Scotland

Lee County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a hard 44-26 fall against the Scotland Fighting Scots. If the Yellow Jackets were looking for revenge after losing 47-44 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lee County lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kallie Byrd, who posted two points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Byrd a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Nevaeh Baldwin, who earned eight points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Lee County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Lee County now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Scotland, their victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-4.

Lee County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 37-36 win against Southern Lee on the 17th. As for Scotland, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-37 loss against Richmond on the 17th.
