Recap: Fossil Ridge SaberCats vs. Prairie View Thunderhawks
The Fossil Ridge SaberCats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Prairie View on the road to the tune of 66-30. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Fossil Ridge has posted yet this season.
Fossil Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lauren Smith led the charge by scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Natalie Lin, who scored 12 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Despite the loss, Prairie View still got an impressive performance from Celicia Robles, who scored 20 points along with two steals and two blocks. Robles is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Paige Walker was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Fossil Ridge and bumps their season record up to 8-7. As for Prairie View, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fossil Ridge will take on Fairview at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Fairview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Wednesday. Prairie View won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Legacy at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th.
