Volleyball Recap: Xavier Now 14-1 over Last 15 Games

Xavier proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Franklin Sabers, sneaking past 2-1.

Leading Xavier to victory were Bella Velasquez and Grace Hackl. Velasquez had 12 digs and three assists, while Hackl had eight digs and two assists. Those 12 digs gave Velasquez a new career-high.

Hazel Rehm and Allie Soboinski certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Rehm had 11 digs and two aces, while Soboinski had 12 assists and four digs. Soboinski has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more assists the last four times she's played.

Xavier is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. As for Franklin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.

Xavier didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Slinger on the 19th. As for Franklin, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Mukwonago on the 19th.
