Softball Recap: Ridge Spring-Monetta Comes Up Short

If Ridge Spring-Monetta was riding high fresh off their 18-1 takedown of North last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans came up short against the Wardlaw Academy Patriots on Monday, falling 15-8. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Patriots earlier this season, when they won 28-17.

With the defeat, Ridge Spring-Monetta broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-6. As for Wardlaw Academy, their record is now 5-7.

Looking ahead, Ridge Spring-Monetta will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Calhoun County at 6:00 p.m. The Saints have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.13 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Wardlaw Academy, they will challenge King Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight.
