Volleyball Game Preview: Cypress Ranch Mustangs vs. Rockwall Yellowjackets

The Cypress Ranch Mustangs will take on the Rockwall Yellowjackets on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Cypress Ranch sitting on four straight wins and Rockwall on 11.

Cypress Ranch is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over The Woodlands. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted since September 4th.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Rockwall sidestepped Waxahachie for a 3-2 victory.

Cypress Ranch better keep an eye on Olivia Clayton. She was instrumental in Rockwall's win, getting 29 digs. Those 29 digs gave Clayton a new career-high.

Rockwall was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in seven consecutive matchups.

Rockwall's win bumped their record up to 28-15. As for Cypress Ranch, their victory bumped their record up to 37-8.

Cypress Ranch came out on top in a nail-biter against Rockwall in their previous matchup back in August of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Yellowjackets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
