It was a good run, but Northeast Jones unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kosciusko Whippets.

Northeast Jones got a good showing from Chase Williams, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, Williams didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February.

On the hitting side, Carter Wiginton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. Cruz Sullins was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one double.

Northeast Jones' defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Kosciusko, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-3.

Northeast Jones didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-3 loss against Oak Grove on the 11th. As for Kosciusko, they will be taking part in a tournament against West Lauderdale at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
