Volleyball Recap: O'connor Starts off Right with Win over Millennium

O'Connor took care of business in their home opener on Thursday. They came out on top against the Millennium Tigers by a score of 3-1. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, 20-25, 25-17.

Anabelle Cummings went supernova, getting 17 digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last five games she's played dating back to last season.

They weren't the only good server: O'Connor was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in eight consecutive contests dating back to last season.

When it comes to explaining why Millennium lost, don't look at Aubrey Burns. Despite the final result, she had 11 digs and five assists.

O'Connor wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Mesa on the 29th. As for Millennium, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Chandler on the 29th.
