The Port Allegany Gators will venture away from home to face off against the Clarion-Limestone Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Port Allegany is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.3 points per game this season.

Port Allegany came up short against Otto-Eldred last Thursday, falling 68-46. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 460th, while the Terrors are ranked 147th).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Isac Amell, who posted ten points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Causer, who went 5-for-11 en route to 12 points.

Meanwhile, Clarion-Limestone was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last Thursday as they fell 56-52 to Redbank Valley. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Port Allegany will have to keep a close watch on Jase Ferguson and Paul Craig, a pair of players who had a big impact on Clarion-Limestone's prior game. Ferguson went 5-for-12 to rack up 16 points in addition to seven boards and five assists, while Craig went 6-for-11 from beyond the arc on his way to 20 points. Charlie Hepfl also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Clarion-Limestone's loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Port Allegany, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-10.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Port Allegany has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Clarion-Limestone struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.2 boards.
