Basketball Recap: Doddridge County Picks Up 12th Straight Win at Home

Doddridge County entered their tilt with Petersburg on Wednesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 70-65 W against the Petersburg Vikings.

Doddridge County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jerod Trent led the charge by going 6-for-8 to rack up 14 points and six rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Trent now owns an excellent 45.6% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Blake Mitchell, who posted 11 points and five boards.

Doddridge County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in ten consecutive contests.

Doddridge County's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1. As for Petersburg, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-7.
