Preview: Massena Raiders vs. General Brown Lions
The Massena Raiders will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the General Brown Lions at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Massena is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than General Brown in New York (Massena is ranked 206th, while General Brown is ranked 607th).
The third road contest was the charm for Massena, as they earned their first road win of the season. They walked away with a 61-51 win over Franklin Academy last Tuesday.
Taylor Mitchell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points. The match was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. Brandon Barnes was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to General Brown, who are still winless after their sixth game. They were the victim of a tough 61-41 defeat at the hands of Marcellus on Wednesday.
Massena's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for General Brown, they have fallen quite a ways from their 18-6 record last season and are now at 0-6.
Massena came up short against General Brown when the teams last played back in December of 2019, falling 45-41. Can Massena avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
