Oak Hill, Melrose win at Marshall County Hoopfest

No. 1-ranked Warriors slip past Quality Education Academy in Kentucky.

After facing each other Friday night at the Battle of the Best in Nashville, Tenn., Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) and Melrose (Memphis, Tenn.) both picked up wins Saturday at the Marshall County Hoopfest in Benton, Ky.

Junior wing Jordan Adams led No. 1-ranked Oak Hill Academy to a 73-71 win over Quality Education Academy (Winston-Salem, N.C.). Adams scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the Warriors improved to 8-0 despite trailing for much of the game.

Oak Hill Academy played without 6-foot-8 senior forward Sidiki Johnson, an Arizona signee.

Melrose received 22 points and 12 rebounds from senior star Adonis Thomas in a 57-49 win over Christian County (Hopkinsville, Ky.). Senior guard Cedric McAfee added 19 points.

Oak Hill Academy beat Melrose 80-59 in their highly-anticipated Friday matchup.
