Soccer Game Preview: Los Angeles CES vs. Venice

The Los Angeles CES Unicorns will challenge the Venice Gondoliers at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Los Angeles CES fell victim to Fairfax and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 7-0 to the Lions. While losing is never fun, the Unicorns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 763rd, while the Lions are ranked 225th).

Meanwhile, Venice entered their tilt with University on Monday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 4-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Gondoliers, who have now won eight contests by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit University with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Hudson Payne, Billy Quinn, Alejandro Gamero, and Zack Lev.

Venice has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those seven games. As for Los Angeles CES, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2-3.
