Baseball Preview: Roosevelt Rough Riders vs. Granite Hills Grizzlies
The Roosevelt Rough Riders will take on the Granite Hills Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Roosevelt knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Granite Hills likes a good challenge.
Roosevelt saw some tournament action on Saturday. They walked away with an 11-6 win over Farmersville.
Brian Roberson was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Granite Hills came up short against Lindsay on Saturday and fell 11-6.
Joseph Magana put in work while hitting and pitching. He pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Magana was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Reginaldo Ramos was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two).
Granite Hills' loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Roosevelt, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
Roosevelt took their win against Granite Hills in their previous matchup on Thursday by a conclusive 10-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Roosevelt since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
