Football Game Preview: Lower Dauphin Falcons vs. Gettysburg Warriors

Two dominant backs in Hunter Strohm and Preston Burnett are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Lower Dauphin Falcons will venture away from home to face off against the Gettysburg Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lower Dauphin has three straight wins, Gettysburg has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Lower Dauphin made easy work of Waynesboro and carried off a 41-17 victory.

Meanwhile, Gettysburg scored first but ultimately less than Mifflin County in their matchup on Friday. They took a 34-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Huskies. While the Warriors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Huskies 7-0 in the first quarter.

Lower Dauphin will need to focus on slowing down Mauricio Escobar, one of several Gettysburg players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 165 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Escobar showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 69 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Johnson, who threw for 293 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt.

Gettysburg's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Lower Dauphin, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Lower Dauphin didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Gettysburg in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 35-31 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
