Softball Recap: Veterans Memorial Comes Up Short

Veterans Memorial lost against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Veterans Memorial Chargers lost 13-5 to the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Bears. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Itzel Rodriguez was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.

Veterans Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Looking ahead, Veterans Memorial will head out on the road to square off against Calallen at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Calallen's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so Veterans Memorial's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo, they will take on Economedes at 7:00 p.m. on March 11th.
