Baseball Recap: Dawson School Triumphs

Dawson School won the last time they faced SkyView Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Mustangs came out on top against the Hawks by a score of 10-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Dawson School got a massive performance out of Shelton Johnson, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Johnson has become a key player for the Mustangs: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Dawson Kusel, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs.

Dawson School's record now sits at 5-6. As for SkyView Academy, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-3.

Coming up, Dawson School will head out to challenge Estes Park at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Mustangs are facing the Bobcats at the right time seeing as the Bobcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for SkyView Academy, they will welcome Clear Creek at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golddiggers have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
