Basketball Recap: Elgin's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Elgin won the last time they faced Vanlue and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Elgin Comets walked away with a 48-37 victory over the Vanlue Wildcats. The game marked the Comets' most dominant win of the season.

Despite the loss, Vanlue still got an impressive performance from Owen Roszman, who went 8 of 20 en route to 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals. That's the most steals Roszman has posted since back in December of 2023. Landon Saltzman was another key player, putting up 14 points and seven boards.

With the victory, Elgin broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-10. As for Vanlue, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Elgin will face off against Temple Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Vanlue has already played their next matchup (against Elmwood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
