Volleyball Game Preview: Groton Tigers vs. Redfield Pheasants

The Groton Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Redfield Pheasants at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Groton is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Dakota's top teams: Northwestern Area, who was ranked tenth at the time (Groton was ranked 25th). The Tigers fell 3-1 to the Wildcats on Tuesday. That makes it the first time this season the Tigers have let down their home crowd.

Groton started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Redfield earned a 2-0 win over Langford on Saturday.

Groton suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 21-5. As for Redfield, their victory bumped their record up to 9-14.

Groton beat Redfield 2-0 in their previous meeting on October 4th. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Pheasants have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
