Baseball Recap: Rifle Triumphs

Rifle's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Roaring Fork Rams. The victory continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won four in a row.

Ryder Bjurstrom spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has become a key player for Rifle: the team is undefeated when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 4-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Adan Medina was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Robbie Magnuson, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Rifle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

The win got Rifle back to even at 9-9. As for Roaring Fork, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-14.

Rifle didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-0 defeat against Palisade on the 3rd. As for Roaring Fork, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 19-1 victory against Moffat County on the 3rd.
