Softball Game Preview: Greenville Yellow Jackets vs. Lakeview Wildcats

The Greenville Yellow Jackets will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against the Lakeview Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Greenville duked it out with Central Montcalm in a bug-themed battle on Friday. The Yellow Jackets fell 7-3 to the Hornets.

Brooke Lindquist made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Alexa Hyler was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Lakeview fell victim to Vestaburg and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Wolverines, falling 10-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Wolverines: they've now lost six in a row.

Greenville's record is now 1-1. As for Lakeview, their record now sits at 0-2.

Greenville took their win against Lakeview in their previous meeting back in April of 2021 by a conclusive 17-2 score. Do the Yellow Jackets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
