Kearny got a massive performance out of Nicolas Hembera, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Hembera has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of DJ Martinez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Crawford never let their opponents score on Thursday. Everything went their way against Army-Navy as they made off with a 6-0 victory. Considering the Colts have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Ray Sanchez, who gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks to keep Army-Navy off the board. Sanchez also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Crawford is 4-2 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Alejandro Guzman was incredible, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Crawford: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 5-7 otherwise. Hector Fuentes was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Kearny's win bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Crawford, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Kearny has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Crawford struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Kearny couldn't quite finish off Crawford in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Komets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
