Softball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Choate Rosemary Hall School

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Choate Rosemary Hall School). They were the clear victors by a 17-3 margin over the Northfield Mount Hermon Hoggers on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Wild Boars sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Natalia Draghi made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Choate Rosemary Hall School got a massive performance out of Maggie Swanson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and two RBI. Gioia Segui was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

Choate Rosemary Hall School kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive matches.

Choate Rosemary Hall School's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-1. As for Northfield Mount Hermon, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
