Basketball Game Preview: University Bulldogs vs. Fort Morgan Mustangs

The University Bulldogs will take on the Fort Morgan Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. University is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68.8 points per game this season.

Last Thursday, everything came up roses for University against Valley as the team secured an 80-41 win. With the Bulldogs ahead 51-21 at the half, the match was all but over already.

University got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gage Schminke out in front who went 8 for 16 on his way to 22 points. Another player making a difference was Coehn Nitzel, who went 5 of 7 en route to 11 points in addition to seven assists and seven rebounds.

University smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Meanwhile, Fort Morgan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were outmatched by The Academy and fell 68-40. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-12.

University's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Fort Morgan, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

University was able to grind out a solid victory over Fort Morgan in their previous meeting back in December of 2019, winning 70-62. Will University repeat their success, or does Fort Morgan have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
