Basketball Recap: Danville Piles Up the Points Against Crawfordsville

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Danville walked away with it. They breezed past the Crawfordsville Athenians to the tune of 66-21 on Wednesday. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matches by 26 points or more this season.

Danville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Emma Ancelet out in front who posted eight points along with six assists and five steals. What's more, Ancelet also posted a 75% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in November of 2023. Another player making a difference was Jillian Conrad, who put up eight points and five steals.

Ancelet wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Danville was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crawfordsville only posted two assists.

Crawfordsville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Caroline Melevage, who scored six points.

Danville is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points over those games. As for Crawfordsville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-19.

Danville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-39 win against Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory on the 7th. Crawfordsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
