Baseball Recap: Faith Christian Academy Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matches, Faith Christian Academy finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Goldsboro Cougars by a score of 4-2. It was the first time this season that the Conquerors let down their fans at home.

Chase Moen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Faith Christian Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jessie Carrillo, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4. Carrillo is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Faith Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Goldsboro, their record is now 6-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Faith Christian Academy will square off against Jacksonville Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Faith Christian Academy is facing Jacksonville Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Jacksonville Christian Academy is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Goldsboro, they will venture away from home to challenge American Leadership Academy-Johnston at 5:00 p.m. on the 24th.
