Softball Recap: Chalmette Has No Trouble Against Salmen

Chalmette never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past the Salmen Spartans 18-0. The result was nothing new for the Owls, who have now won ten matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

CJ Dettwiller was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Mia Patcheco was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

Chalmette was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .647. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Chalmette and bumps their season record up to 15-9. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Salmen, their loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-15.

Chalmette will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Spartans: the pair will be back at it again later today.
