Basketball Recap: Klein Oak Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

After losing to Klein Forest the last time they met, Klein Oak decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Klein Oak Panthers came out on top against the Klein Forest Eagles by a score of 48-36 on Friday. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Eagles are ranked 665th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Klein Oak's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maci Mote, who went 7 of 15 en route to 21 points. Mote's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiana Vega, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Klein Oak has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.9 points per game. As for Klein Forest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Klein Oak Panthers face off against the Klein Collins Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a five-game winning streak alive. As for Klein Forest, they will square off against Tomball Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tomball Memorial will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Klein Forest surely won't give up without a fight.
