Softball Recap: Lincoln County Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

Lincoln County's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Columbia Central Lions. This was a revenge game for the Falcons: when they faced off against the Lions back in April, they had to take a 6-4 defeat.

Brenna Edwards spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits.

At the plate, Lincoln County let Hana Corder and Ava Harris run wild. Corder went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Harris went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Corder a new career-high.

Lincoln County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-14-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Columbia Central, their loss dropped their record down to 19-12.

Lincoln County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-0 defeat against Coffee County Central on the 8th. Columbia Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
