Volleyball Recap: Rockwell Comes Up Short

Rockwell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Vanguard Academy Knights, falling 3-0.

While Rockwell was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Vanguard Academy's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-17, 25-18.

Vanguard Academy can attribute much of their success to Ben Kingston, who had seven aces and seven assists. Those seven aces gave Kingston a new career-high. Cole Jenkins also deserves some recognition as he had his first kill of the season.

Rockwell's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Vanguard Academy, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rockwell will take on Wasatch Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Vanguard Academy, they will face off against Utah Military Academy - Camp Williams at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
