Basketball Game Preview: Bonny Eagle Scots vs. Deering Rams

The Bonny Eagle Scots will square off against the Deering Rams at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

On Friday, Bonny Eagle took a blow against Sanford, falling 57-18. The defeat continues a trend for the Scots in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Deering was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 58-26 loss at the hands of Marshwood. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Hawks are ranked eighth).

Bonny Eagle's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Deering, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-13.

Bonny Eagle came out on top in a nail-biter against Deering in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, sneaking past 33-30. Does Bonny Eagle have another victory up their sleeve, or will Deering turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
