Volleyball Recap: Fort Osage Comes Up Short

Fort Osage suffered their biggest defeat since September 24th on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Platte County Pirates. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Fort Osage was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Platte County work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-13, 25-15.

Elaina Noaese paced Fort Osage's offense, picking up eight kills. Noaese got some help from Ryleigh Gage and her 24 assists. Gage was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Platte County had a senior duo take command as Gia DeRose had 11 digs and eight assists and Evelyn Reith had 12 digs and two assists.

Fort Osage's loss dropped their record down to 20-10-1. As for Platte County, they pushed their record up to 18-9-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Fort Osage didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Truman on the 16th. As for Platte County, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Grain Valley on the 16th.
