Baseball Game Preview: Katella Knights vs. Godinez Fundamental Grizzlies

Katella is on a four-game streak of home losses also dating back to last season, Godinez Fundamental an 11-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Thursday. The Katella Knights will host the Godinez Fundamental Grizzlies at 3:00 p.m. Godinez Fundamental took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Katella, who comes in off a win.

Katella gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past Sunny Hills 7-1.

Juan Carlos Navarro spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Isaiah Munoz, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Hector Perez, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Katella always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sunny Hills only posted an OBP of .185.

Meanwhile, Godinez Fundamental lost 14-1 to Orange on Tuesday.

Godinez Fundamental's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Katella, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Katella was able to grind out a solid victory over Godinez Fundamental when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 5-0. Will Katella repeat their success, or does Godinez Fundamental have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
