Volleyball Preview: Triton Trojans vs. Plymouth Pilgrims/Rockies
Triton hasn't had much luck against Plymouth recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Triton Trojans will welcome the Plymouth Pilgrims/Rockies at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Triton comes in on five and Plymouth on three.
Last Thursday, Triton got the win against South Bend Career Academy by a conclusive 3-0.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Triton was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-11, 25-10.
Triton relied on the efforts of Allie Westafer, who had eight digs, four aces, and a kill, and Sierra Hawley, who had 14 digs and two aces. Westafer is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in the last five games she's played dating back to last season.
Triton was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in five consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Plymouth made easy work of Knox on Wednesday and carried off a 3-0 victory.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-12, 25-17.
