Basketball Recap: Glenbrook Comes Up Short

Glenbrook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by the Ringgold Redskins 72-32. The Apaches were not able to make up for their defeat to the Redskins from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Several Apaches players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sam Ricord, who posted six points along with seven boards and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Ricord a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (50%). Dalton Harber was another key player, putting up four points.

Ringgold had a senior duo take command as LaDaunte McCoy went 10 for 14 on his way to 21 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals and Keenan Johnson went 6 of 12 to rack up 14 points and four steals. McCoy has been hot, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Silas Savage, who scored ten points.

Glenbrook's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Ringgold, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-17 record this season.

Coming up, Glenbrook will face off against Jonesboro-Hodge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ringgold, they will square off against Haynesville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Ringgold's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
