Volleyball Recap: Valmeyer Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road + How To Watch

After losing to New Athens the last time they met, Valmeyer decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Pirates walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Yellow Jackets on Thursday.

While Valmeyer won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-20.

Kaleigh Hicks was nothing short of spectacular: she had 15 digs, six kills, three aces, and two blocks. Those three aces gave her a new career-high. Maddi Huddleston was another key player, getting three digs and one block.

Valmeyer's win ended a five-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-16-1. As for New Athens, they dropped their record down to 4-10 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Valmeyer didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Okawville on the 6th. As for New Athens, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Maryville Christian on the 3rd.
