Volleyball Recap: Valmeyer Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road + How To Watch

Valmeyer lost to New Athens back in September, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Pirates came out on top against the Yellow Jackets by a score of 2-0.

While Valmeyer won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-20.

Kaleigh Hicks had an outrageously good game as she had 15 digs, six kills, three aces, and two blocks. Those three aces gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maddi Huddleston, who had three digs and one block.

Valmeyer's victory ended a five-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-16-1. As for New Athens, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Valmeyer has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Okawville on the 6th. As for New Athens, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Maryville Christian on the 3rd.
