Baseball Recap: Bonnabel's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Bonnabel won against Varnado on Wednesday with 16 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. Bonnabel beat the West Jefferson Buccaneers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 16-1. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by ten runs or more this season.

Bonnabel got a massive performance out of Christian Rivero, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That's the most runs Rivero has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Martin, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Bonnabel was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win (which was Bonnabel's third in a row) raised their record to 10-8. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for West Jefferson, their loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Bonnabel has already played their next contest, a 17-2 defeat against St. Martin's Episcopal on the 22nd. As for West Jefferson, they will head out on the road to square off against Benjamin Franklin at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
