Football Game Preview: Iroquois West Raiders vs. Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman Buffaloes

The Iroquois West Raiders will take on the Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Iroquois West's offense hasn't had much luck over their past four games, but Friday's matchup will give them a chance to turn things around.

Iroquois West is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Momence on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Raiders came up short against the Momence Athletics, falling 28-7. The Raiders were down 21-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman hadn't done well against Hoopeston/Armstrong recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Buffaloes managed a 27-22 victory over Hoopeston/Armstrong. The Buffaloes' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman's win came from a few key players Iroquois West will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was William Runyan, who picked up 187 receiving yards and three TDs. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Heck, who threw for 192 yards and three touchdowns on only 18 passes.

With the win, Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3. As for Iroquois West, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Iroquois West was taken down by Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman 48-8 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Raiders were down 32-8.
