Volleyball Recap: Avon Orioles vs. Boone Grove Wolves

Avon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Boone Grove Wolves. If the Orioles were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Wolves when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Avon's offense was headlined by Isaac Hersam and James Butler, who picked up two kills apiece. They got some help from Cameron James and his five assists. Damian Eberle controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Boone Grove's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryder McCoy led the charge by getting nine digs and four aces. Those four aces gave McCoy a new career-high.

Avon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Boone Grove, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

Coincidentally, Avon and Boone Grove will both be playing Kokomo the next time they take the court. The Wolves will head out to face the Wildkats at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Orioles will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
