Basketball Recap: Dilley Takes a Loss

Dilley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 24th straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 100-44 loss at the hands of the Lytle Pirates. The Wolves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-24.

Dilley's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Isaiah Kinsey, who posted 20 points, and Jonathan Osio, who scored 11 points.

It was another big night for Zacharee Perez, who went 10 for 18 to rack up 27 points along with six steals and five boards for Lytle. Perez continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Seth Pierce, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Dilley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-22. As for Lytle, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-9.

Dilley has already played their next contest, a 73-49 loss against Hondo on the 11th. As for Lytle, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, an 80-66 win against Poteet on the 10th.
