Basketball Game Preview: Union Tigers vs. Calhoun Red Devils

The Union Tigers will face off against the Calhoun Red Devils at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Union took on East Hardy on Tuesday. The Tigers lost 80-54 to the Cougars.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Braylon Ward, who went 11-for-22 en route to 26 points and eight rebounds. That was a full 48.1% of Union's points, marking the ninth time in a row Ward has posted more than a third of the team's points. Corbin Streets was another key player, shooting 71% from the field on his way to 11 points along with six boards and six blocks.

Meanwhile, Calhoun was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They came up short against Clay County, falling 75-52.

Union's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Calhoun, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-15.

Union came up short against Calhoun when the teams last played back in January of 2018, falling 62-56. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
