Wakulla is 2-8 against Chiles since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Wakulla will head out to challenge Chiles at 6:00 p.m. Wakulla is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Wakulla didn't have quite enough to beat Maclay and fell 3-2.

Wakulla saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was James Hoffman, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Chiles never let their opponents score on Saturday. They blew past Nease 10-0.

Alex Haine looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Chiles is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 6-7 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tyler Correa, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Chiles' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-7 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Colby Tadder, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Chiles was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

Chiles has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. Wakulla's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.

Wakulla couldn't quite get it done against Chiles when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 7-2. Can Wakulla avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
