Basketball Recap: Amorette Gallegos Key Part of a Team Effort in Buccaneers Win

Miller won the last time they faced Ray and things went their way on Friday too. The Miller Buccaneers managed a 49-44 victory over the Ray Texans.

Miller's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amorette Gallegos, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. That's the most points Gallegos has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Hailey Martinez, who posted nine points in addition to six assists and six steals.

Miller's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-12. As for Ray, they dropped their record down to 2-16 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Alice the next time they take the court. Miller will host Alice at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while Ray will head out to face them at 6:15 p.m. on January 17th.
