Recap: Brookstone Cougars vs. Kendrick Cherokees
There's no place like home for the Brookstone Cougars, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Tuesday. They took down Kendrick 69-50 on Thursday. Given Brookstone's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while Kendrick is ranked 455th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fuller Jones was the offensive standout of the matchup as he went 8 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 0 assists. Grayson Miley was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Despite the loss, Kendrick still got an impressive performance from Evan Allison, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Andrew Spivey, who scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds.
Brookstone has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Kendrick, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Brookstone will head out on the road to face off against Jordan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jordan is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Kendrick, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Central at 7:30 p.m. Central is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
