La Vega (Waco, Texas) 32-9 on the strength of a superb game by dual threat quarterback
Harris Coleman, who threw two touchdown passes while running for three more.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Coleman to
Braydon Watson in the second quarter, the Leopards led 14-3 at the half.
Both teams scored six points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at 11 entering the fourth.
A 12-point fourth quarter solidified the win for Lorena, as it pushed the final margin of victory to 23.
La Vega's lone touchdown came on a 5-yard run in the third quarter.
LHS came in allowing an average of 30.0 points per game this season.
The loss comes after La Vega defeated China Spring 43-40 last week. The win was a nice bounce back for the Leopards, who lost to Connally last week, 34-28. The loss broke La Vega's two-game winning streak.
Lorena (6-1) goes up against Robinson in a 3A Region III District 17 game matchup next week, while La Vega (3-4) locks horns with West also in a 3A Region III District 17 game.
