Basketball Recap: Grove City Comes Up Short

Grove City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 42-41 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Charles Cardinals. The Greyhounds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Grove City lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Demitri Adado, who posted 13 points. Jacob Saxton was another key player, putting up nine points.

Grove City's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for St. Charles, their victory bumped their record up to 8-12.

Coming up, Grove City will challenge Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln has insisted on making their last four contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-2 during that stretch of close contests. As for St. Charles, they will square off against Bishop Watterson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
